Job summary

Boels Rental is seeking a delivery operative in Leeds to load, transport, and deliver plant equipment to customers and construction sites. You will maintain strong customer relationships and provide guidance on safe equipment use.

The role requires valid UK driving qualifications, CPC, and tachograph compliance, with a focus on accurate administration and teamwork with branch colleagues.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Load and transport plant equipment and small tools from the branch to customers and sites.
• Deliver equipment on time and to the correct location, updating customers on delays.
• Build relationships with customers and handle questions professionally.
• Advise customers on safe and correct use of equipment.
• Check equipment condition during deliveries and ensure accurate administration.
• Collect equipment at end of rental and return to branch.
• Work with mechanics/branch staff to prepare equipment for next customer.

Job description

Your Responsibilities

• Load and safely transport plant equipment and small tools from the branch to customers and construction sites
• Deliver equipment on time and to the correct location, keeping customers informed of any delays
• Build positive relationships with customers and handle questions or challenging situations professionally
• Advise customers on the safe and correct use of equipment where needed
• Check the condition of equipment during deliveries and collections and ensure all relevant administration is completed accurately
• Collect equipment at the end of the rental period and return it safely to the branch
• Work closely with mechanics and branch colleagues to ensure equipment is ready for the next customer

Your Profile

• Possess a full, clean B/BE/C1/C1E UK Driving Licence – ESSENTIAL
• Valid CPC
• Valid digital Tachograph
• Demonstrate competent towing skills such as;
  • Driving/reversing safely with a trailer attached.
  • Safely coupling/uncoupling your trailer
  • Adhering to all signs, signals and roadmarkings pertinent to drivers towing a trailer.
  • Being alert to the weight limitations of your trailer and/or the combined weight limitations of your trailer and vehicle together (also referred to as MAM/GVW).
  • Demonstrate competent literacy and numeracy skills – ESSENTIAL
  • Have valid proof of your right to work in the UK – (Boels does not arrange relocation, work visas or provide visa sponsorship) – ESSENTIAL
