Job summary

MPA Recruitment in Belfast invites applications for Driver roles (Category B and D). You will join a team delivering safe, respectful transport for Trust clients and officers, with emphasis on professional conduct and customer care.

Job description

Job Role: Driver

MPA are actively seeking to recruit Category B and Category D drivers, to cover duties in the transport department.

As part of a team of professional drivers, you are a critical to the smooth running of the operation. Customers trust us, so you will always be professional, providing a first-class service every time. It is also important that you drive vehicles in a safe and lawful manner, taking into account weather and traffic conditions.

Location – Belfast & Knockbracken

Hours of Work – 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday – Between: 7:00am - 6:00 pm)

Category B Driver: £12.71 - £19.07 per hour

Category D Driver: £12.75 - £19.13 per hour

What the role entails:
  • Daily collection and conveyance of Trust clients and/or officers as allocated.
  • Collecting and conveying staff and clients for social and educational outings and during holiday trips.
  • Securing clients travelling with recommended restraint devices.
  • Where necessary assist clients, including those using wheelchairs or walking aids, etc in any manner possible with regard to their needs e.g. preparation for transit to (and on return home) centres and functions, doing up laces, switching off lights and appliances etc.
  • Assist clients into and out of vehicles
  • Providing, where appropriate, personal assistance to clients/patients and ensuring privacy, dignity and rights of clients.
  • Helping in the provision of individual and group programmes of care.
  • Participating in group and leisure activities.
  • Attending and contributing to reviews of clients/ patients as appropriate.
  • Participating in programme of formal supervision
  • Being available to listen and talk to clients/patients.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Clean Full UK License, with no more than 3 points
  • Experience of Driving Commercial Vehicles (up to 7500kg)
  • A full clean driving licence (up to 3 points for minor offence may be accepted) with unrestricted codes for B

(Vehicle between 3500kg and 7500kg with Trailer over 750kg with combined vehicle and trailer up to 12,000kg)

CATEGORY D- CRITERIA:

  • Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC)
  • Category D / D1 License.
  • Clean Full UK License, with no more than 3 points
  • Experience of Driving Commercial Vehicles (up to 7500kg)
  • A full clean driving licence (up to 3 points for minor offence may be accepted) with unrestricted codes for D & D1

(Vehicle between 3500kg and 7500kg with Trailer over 750kg with combined vehicle and trailer up to 12,000kg)
