Job description

We're supporting a well-established steel fabrication business in their search for a skilled Draughtsperson to join their close-knit team based in Hull. You'll work closely with the Design Engineer and Contracts Manager, offering valuable support across projects—an excellent chance to develop new skills and gain wider exposure to other aspects of the business. The offices are in an excellent location, offering a comfortable, air-conditioned workspace with well-kept garden grounds and proximity to shops and amenities.

If you're someone who enjoys seeing designs come to life, collaborating with both workshop and site teams, and being part of a supportive working environment—this is a great opportunity.

You'll be working primarily with 2D AutoCAD to produce fabrication drawings for structural steelwork. You'll also assist in coordinating materials, managing documentation, and occasionally supporting site equipment orders.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Produce fabrication drawings using 2D AutoCAD (and Avance Steel—training available)
  • Create and manage BOMs (Bills of Materials)
  • Liaise with workshop and site teams to ensure smooth workflow
  • Support the ordering of materials and occasional site equipment
  • Communicate effectively within a small, open-plan office environment

What We're Looking For

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD is essential
  • A solid understanding of steel fabrication would be highly beneficial
  • Strong communication and teamworking skills
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, office-based setting

Salary & Benefits

  • Up to £35,000 per annum (depending on experience)
  • Potential bonus scheme after 12 months
  • Office-based, Monday to Friday (9am–5pm)
  • Join a supportive team of 4 in a growing business
