A vibrant and creative secondary school in Merton is seeking a passionate and skilled Drama Teacher to join their successful Performing Arts department. This is a full-time, permanent position, offering a fantastic opportunity to inspire students and contribute to a thriving arts culture within the school. The successful Drama Teacher will be enthusiastic.

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience teaching Drama at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. (KS5 experience is desirable, but not essential).
  • A genuine passion for Drama and theatre.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • A commitment to raising student achievement and fostering creativity.
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to extra-curricular activities.
  • A dedication to ongoing professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning, preparing, and delivering dynamic and engaging Drama lessons.
  • Differentiating instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback.
  • Maintaining accurate records of student attainment.
  • Creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Collaborating with colleagues within the Performing Arts department.
  • Contributing to extra-curricular Drama activities (productions, clubs, etc.).
  • Directing and/or supporting school performances.
  • Communicating effectively with parents/guardians.
  • Ensuring health and safety regulations are meet.The Drama Teacher must have the above.
