A vibrant and creative secondary school in Merton is seeking a passionate and skilled Drama Teacher to join their successful Performing Arts department. This is a full-time, permanent position, offering a fantastic opportunity to inspire students and contribute to a thriving arts culture within the school. The successful Drama Teacher will be enthusiastic.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Proven experience teaching Drama at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. (KS5 experience is desirable, but not essential).
- A genuine passion for Drama and theatre.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A commitment to raising student achievement and fostering creativity.
- A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to extra-curricular activities.
- A dedication to ongoing professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning, preparing, and delivering dynamic and engaging Drama lessons.
- Differentiating instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
- Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback.
- Maintaining accurate records of student attainment.
- Creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
- Collaborating with colleagues within the Performing Arts department.
- Contributing to extra-curricular Drama activities (productions, clubs, etc.).
- Directing and/or supporting school performances.
- Communicating effectively with parents/guardians.
- Ensuring health and safety regulations are meet.The Drama Teacher must have the above.
