Principal Education is delighted to be working with a thriving secondary school in Redbridge to recruit a creative and inspiring Drama Teacher to join their Performing Arts Department on a maternity cover contract from January 2026.

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Drama Teacher with a passion for performance and a commitment to inspiring students creativity and confidence. The successful candidate will:

  • Teach Drama across KS3 and KS4 (opportunities to contribute to KS5 Performing Arts where available).
  • Plan and deliver exciting, practical lessons that build students confidence, teamwork, and presentation skills.
  • Support school productions, drama clubs, and enrichment activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Performing Arts Department to create an engaging curriculum and memorable performances.

  • A co-educational secondary school and sixth form in the London Borough of Redbridge.

Candidate Requirements
  • QTS is not essential; applications welcome from experienced teachers, ECTs, and industry professionals.
  • Degree or significant experience in Drama, Theatre Studies, Performing Arts, or a related field.
  • Ability to inspire, engage, and motivate students through creative and inclusive teaching.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
  • A passion for performance and willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities.
