Job Description: Drama Graduate Teaching Assistant

Location: East of England, Norfolk, Merton

Job Type: Temporary, Part-Time

Salary: £150 - £200 per day

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Job Duties:
  • Assist in providing drama support to primary and early years students
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and deliver drama lessons
  • Help create and organise drama activities, including rehearsals and performances
  • Guide students in exploring different dramatic techniques and concepts
  • Support students in developing their creativity, confidence, and communication skills through drama
  • Provide individual and group assistance during drama sessions
  • Assist in managing classroom behaviour and ensuring a safe learning environment
  • Help with the preparation of teaching materials and resources
  • Contribute to assessing and evaluating students' progress
  • Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents regarding students' performance
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Drama or a related field
  • Experience working with primary or early years students
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of drama techniques and concepts
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Patience and the ability to engage and motivate students
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic educational environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Postgraduate qualification in Education or Drama
  • Previous experience as a teaching assistant
  • Experience in planning and delivering drama lessons
  • Knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment frameworks
  • First Aid certification
Working Conditions:

The Drama Graduate Teaching Assistant will primarily work within a school setting, assisting in drama sessions and supporting students.
