Job Description:

FM Conway is excited to be recruiting for a Drainage Operative Apprentice to join our Water and Drainage Management division, based at our Northington Depot. As a Drainage Operative Apprentice, you will gain practical experience in services including cleaning, clearance, repair, and maintenance of drains, while obtaining your Level 2 Drainage Network Operative qualification. This is a full-time, permanent position, where you will work in a supported learning environment and attend college on a block release basis, completing an average of six hours of study per week during the course.

The duties of the Drainage Operative Apprentice will include:

  • Pursuing your studies to gain the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required for your Level 2 apprenticeship
  • Building professional relationships and maintaining clear, proactive communication with colleagues and customers
  • Operating HGV High Pressure Jetting vehicles, in compliance with safety regulations
  • Operating the GIS unit and following company procedures
  • Maintaining vehicles and equipment according to company standards

What skills and experience do you need?

Our Drainage Operative Apprentice candidates should have strong teamwork skills, be self-motivated, and able to work under pressure. Effective communication skills and the ability to use your initiative are essential. Ideally, you will have a grade 4 or above in Maths and English GCSE.
