Job Description

AtkinsRéalis is a leading name in Surface Water Management (SWM), shaping dialogue within the UK and internationally on integrating drainage into green-blue infrastructure and masterplanning. Joining our team means becoming part of a multidisciplinary group with a national remit, working with clients including water companies, local authorities, highways, rail authorities, and developers on major projects. The role involves close collaboration with technical experts and offers potential to become the regional contact for Surface Water Management and Sustainable Drainage Systems (SUDS). The candidate will develop technical expertise, mentor staff, and liaise with clients. Experience in drainage and SuDS is ideal, and an interest in planning, ecology, landscape architecture, environmental economics, and management is desirable.

The Belfast water team comprises geographers, GIS specialists, modellers, and engineers, delivering projects for Water Companies, Local Authorities, and developers.

Requirements:
  • Degree in relevant subject.
  • Post-graduation relevant experience.
Desirable Criteria:
  • Experience in drainage design, including SUDS.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard drainage network design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and hydraulic modelling (preferably Microdrainage).
  • Proven ability to deliver technically excellent projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Interest in developing innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions.
  • Experience in team working on multidisciplinary projects.
  • Proficiency in Civil3D.
  • Sound commercial understanding.
  • Ability to develop and motivate team members.
  • Proven ability to develop client relationships.
  • Professional qualification attainment or progress.
