Job summary

Lanes Group in Kidlington is recruiting a Drainage Engineer to join our Thames Water contract. The role is permanent, full-time, working 4 days on 4 days off (40.25 hours) with a starting salary of £31,056 per annum.

You will travel to residential sites, operate high-pressure jets, maintain drainage systems, complete accurate job reports, and support customers while adhering to health and safety standards and using VISTEC and Salesforce platforms.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to travel to residential sites within the region.
  • Maintain and clear drainage systems and operate high-pressure jetting equipment.
  • Accurately record each job on specialist equipment and reports.
  • Operate safely with PPE and follow health and safety practices in all weather.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to residential sites and operate a high-pressure water jet for restoration.
  • Clean, maintain and inspect drainage systems.
  • Record each job report on the specialist equipment provided.
  • Run diagnostics and repairs on drains and liaise with Thames Water as required.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain safety standards on site.
  • Utilise VISTEC and Salesforce platforms for reporting and updates.
  • Perform risk assessments and ensure safe site access and practices.
  • Support colleagues and comply with company policies.

Purpose of the role:

Due to continued growth and development, we are now looking for customer focused people to join us in our Utility Division, working on our Thames Water contract service to deliver real and effective solutions to waste-water network and drainage problems.

Key Responsibilities:

· Travelling to residential sites, around the region powering a high-pressure water

jet for restoration.

· Clean, clear and maintain drainage systems.

· Record each job report correctly on the specialist equipment provided.

· Run diagnostics and repairs on drains

· Delivering good customer service.

· Maintaining good H&S practise while carrying out works.

· Ensure vehicle stock is full and replenished.

· To comply with health and safety responsibilities i.e. PPE / safe site set ups protecting Lanes Group employees, the public and other road users.

· To be able to utilise VISTEC and Salesforce platforms.

· Liaising with the client (Thames Water) regarding progress and any updates.

· Ability to work unsupervised in all weather conditions utilizing correct PPE, lone worker system, etc.

· Dynamically risk assess site access & working conditions depending on specific circumstances on arrival.

· Provide support to your colleagues.

· To conduct thorough inspections of tools, equipment and plant before/after use.

· Report any defects or malfunctions in regards to training.

· Carry out risk assessments and have a mature approach to risk perception.

· Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and their responsibility towards them

· Any other reasonable ad-hoc duties requested by management
