Job summary

Lanes Group is seeking a Drainage Engineer for the Millbrook depot (Hampshire). This permanent, full-time role involves travelling with a two-person team to residential sites to operate high-pressure water jetting and CCTV diagnostics to restore sewer services.

The position is based in Millbrook, Hampshire, offering 45 hours per week and a salary of £31,583 per annum with overtime opportunities. The role requires carrying out drainage maintenance, safety procedures, and excellent customer

Responsibilities

  • Travelling to residential sites via a HGV in a two person team, powering a high-pressure water jet with suction capabilities for restoration of sewer services
  • Cleanse, clear and maintain drainage systems
  • Record each job report correctly on the specialist equipment provided
  • Run diagnostics and promote for repairs on drains by use of CCTV equipment
  • Delivering good customer service
  • Maintaining good health and safety practise while carrying out works
  • Ensure vehicle stock is full and replenished
  • Comply with health and safety responsibilities, i.e. PPE / safe site setups protecting Lanes Group employees, the public and other road users
  • Operate JHL specification vacuum tankers and associated equipment
  • Safely access vehicle cabs, sites and offices using correct procedures (e.g., three points of contact)
  • Manipulate (including loading and unloading to / from tanker pipe storage trays) flexible pipework in a safe manner utilising correct manual handling techniques
  • Work unsupervised in all weather conditions, wearing correct PPE or utilising the lone worker system
  • Dynamically risk assess site access and working conditions depending on specific circumstances on arrival
  • Liaising with the client regarding process and any updates
  • Provide support to your colleagues
  • Conduct thorough inspections of tools, equipment and plant before and after use
  • Report any defects or malfunctions
  • Carry out risk assessments and have a mature approach to risk perception
  • Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and your responsibilities towards them
  • Any other reasonable ad-hoc tasks, duties or projects as requested by management

Purpose of the role:

Due to continued growth and development, we are now looking for customer focused people to join us in our Utility Division, working on our Southern Water contract service to deliver real and effective solutions to waste-water network and drainage problems.

Position:Drainage Engineer

Location:Millbrook depot (Hampshire)

Job Type:Permanent, full-time

Hours:Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week

Salary: £31,583 per annum (overtime available paid at 1.25 during the week and paid 1.5 during the weekend)
