Position: CCTV Operative
Location: Stanley House, Anthony's Way, Medway City Estate, Rochester, ME2 4NF
Line Reporting Manager: Senior Transport Scheduler
Hours: 06:00am - 16:00pm, 50-hour week
Principle Duties and Accountabilities
- Drive and operate specialist CCTV underground pipe survey rig, working on private and public land in strict accordance with statutory health, safety, and environmental procedures.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Interpret survey results and prepare comprehensive condition reports to industry standards.
- Undertake basic H&S vehicle checks at the start and finish of each shift.
- Report all defects, accidents, and near misses immediately to line manager.
- Ensure all jobs are correctly documented with work tickets submitted at the end of each shift.
- Maintain the drivers log book in compliance with MOT rules and procedures.
- Ensure the condition of all issued personal protective clothing and equipment remains fit for purpose, clean, and free from defects.
- Keep the vehicle and equipment washed down on a weekly basis, free from rubbish.
- Undertake ad-hoc duties as required, including assisting other field teams in exceptional circumstances.
- Attend meetings, medical, and training courses as required.
Health & Safety
Section 7 of the Health & Safety at Work Act (1974) states the general duties of employees at work:
- Take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and others affected by their acts or omissions.
- Co-operate with their employer and others to enable statutory duties to be performed.
CCTV Operative Health and Safety Responsibilities
- Understand and comply with the company health and safety policy.
- Promote a positive health and safety culture and lead by example.
- Carry out all activities safely in accordance with legislation, company policies, procedures, and RAMS.
- Complete all required health and safety documentation accurately.
- Read and understand health and safety documentation on tablets.
- Ensure VPRs and DRAs are completed for every job.
- Report all health, safety, and environmental incidents within 2 hours.
Qualifications / Competency
- Flexible with working hours and able to assist as needed.
- Full UK 7.5-ton Drivers License.
- Standpipe Usage Competency Training.
- Sonde Certificate.
- Ability to work within controlled guidelines and environmental regulations.
- Polite and friendly with the public.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions remotely.
- Report to management and complete work tickets and logs diligently.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety.
