This is your chance to work with a trusted name in drainage – Drain Doctor, a leading UK network known for exceptional service and a people-first culture. If you're driven, hands-on, and ready to grow with a franchise backed by global brand Neighbourly, we want to hear from you.

Why Join Us?

  • Great Pay & Bonus Scheme: Realistic OTE of £45k with a clear, structured bonus (earn up to £1,000 extra per month based on performance)
  • Stability & Support: Join a head-office-owned franchise with strong operational backing and a well-established customer base
  • Professional Growth: Ongoing training and mentoring available to upskill in areas like patch lining, surveys, and customer service

  • Friendly Culture: You'll be joining a team that truly values communication, collaboration, and quality

The Role

As a Drainage Engineer, you’ll attend domestic and commercial sites across the SO postcode region (plus nearby areas if needed) to carry out investigations, unblock drains, perform repairs and deliver long-lasting solutions. Jobs are typically high value, booked in as free-of-charge quotes – giving you time to build rapport and win customer trust. You’ll use your technical knowledge to diagnose faults, resolve issues and recommend further works where needed.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Diagnosing and resolving drainage faults, minor excavations and patch lining
  • Advising customers and quoting on-site in a clear, trustworthy manner
  • Using CCTV equipment to carry out surveys
  • Working within a tight-knit team to deliver excellent service
  • Following all health & safety procedures and contributing to a culture of safety and responsibility

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in a reactive or repair drainage engineer role
  • Ability to unblock drains using rods or HPWJ equipment
  • A confidence communication style, with a real passion for providing exceptional customer service.
  • Full UK manual driving licence, held for 2+ years, with no more than 6 points
  • Right to work in the UK without sponsorship
  • Comfortable working alone and outdoors, with a customer-first attitude
  • High-pressure water jetting certificate or experience
  • Experience in patch lining or minor plumbing repairs

Location & Hours

  • Location: Field-based across Southampton and the SO postcode area
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, including occasional on-call rota ( 1 in 4) and overtime opportunities
  • Office Setup: You’ll report into the local franchise team with strong support from head office – plus regular face-to-face interaction with the Regional Development Manager

This Role Offers:

  • £32,000–£34,000 base salary (dependent on experience)
  • OTE £40,000–£45,000 (realistic and achievable bonus structure)
  • Company van, tools, PPE and uniform provided
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities
  • Clear progression within a growing network
  • Employee recognition and performance support
