Job summary

WR Engineering is seeking a Drainage Engineer to join its field-based team in the Midlands region. The role focuses on high-pressure water jetting, CCTV surveys, and implementing drainage repairs with hands-on site work.

Responsibilities include producing drainage plans, tracing utilities, excavating and reinstating surfaces, and documenting every job accurately. A clean UK licence and jetting experience are essential for this field-based position.

Qualifications

• Valid UK driving licence is essential.
• Experience with high-pressure water jetting is required.
• Ability to use CCTV drainage survey equipment and record defects.
• Capability to produce basic drainage plans and surveys.
• Able to identify suitable drainage repairs and replacements.
• Experience with drainage lining systems and patch liners is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment safely.
• Carry out CCTV drainage surveys and record defects.
• Recommend remedial works after inspections.
• Produce drainage plans of surveyed systems.
• Trace drains and underground services with CAT and Genny.
• Undertake excavation and pipe replacement work.
• Reinstate surfaces (concrete, paving slabs, tarmac).
• Install drainage liners and complete lining installations.
• Complete reports and job documentation.
• Maintain professional conduct at customer sites.

Drainage Engineer

Location: Midlands Region

Pay: £16-17 per hour

Benefits: Company van, overtime and door-to-door pay

An established drainage services business is looking to recruit an experienced Drainage Engineer to join its field-based engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment safely and correctly


• Carry out CCTV drainage surveys and accurately record defects


• Recommend appropriate remedial works following inspections


• Produce drainage plans showing surveyed drainage systems


• Use CAT and Genny equipment to trace drains and underground services


• Undertake excavation and pipe replacement work


• Reinstate surfaces including concrete, paving slabs and cold-lay tarmac


• Install straight and radial patch liners


• Complete drainage lining installations on 100mm and 150mm pipework


• Complete accurate reports and job documentation


• Work safely and professionally at customer sites

Essential Requirements

• Full clean UK driving licence


• Abrasive wheel training


• Experience operating high-pressure water jetting equipment


• Ability to use CCTV drainage survey equipment


• Experience identifying and recording drainage defects


• Ability to recommend suitable drainage repairs


• Ability to produce basic drainage plans


• Experience using CAT and Genny equipment


• Excavation and pipe replacement experience


• Surface reinstatement experience


• Experience installing patch liners


• Experience completing 100mm and 150mm lining installations


• A valid water jetting card would be advantageous.

Desirable Skills

• Deep excavation and shuttering experience


• 360 excavator licence


• First Aid qualification
