Job summary

Arcus FM is seeking a Drainage Engineer to cover East London and surrounding areas. The role focuses on planned and reactive drainage tasks, ensuring safety and high standards, with first-line emergency response during office hours and on-call out of hours to keep customers trading.

You will diagnose faults, perform surveys and create technical reports, and act as a Brand Ambassador for Arcus, contributing to training and supporting apprentices while maintaining a professional image.

Qualifications

• Essential Full UK driving licence.
• CSCS card is desirable.
• High pressure water jetting qualification desirable.
• Confined space certification desirable.
• Understanding of CCTV in retail drainage is beneficial.
• Understanding of commercial drainage systems in retail environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and identify failures in drainage systems and provide effective solutions; escalate where necessary.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements and follow the company's policy and processes.
• Sponsor and complete drainage surveys and technical reports; cascade data to field personnel.
• Act as Brand Ambassador for Arcus and maintain vehicle, dress code and professional appearance.
• Support colleagues with training and upskilling of apprentices and assist as needed.

Job description

We have a great opportunity for a Drainage Engineer to join our team that covers East London and the wider areas.

The main purpose of the role will be to carry out planned and reactive drainage tasks safely and to a high standard.

You will be providing a first line response to all emergencies during normal working hours and providing an out of hours service when on call, to keep out customers trading.

• Salary: £37,815 per annum
• Door to door pay
• 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays
• Van (with option for personal use from day 1) and fuel card

• Up to 4% discretionary bonus scheme, subject to achievement of targets

About the Job

Duties & responsibilities:

• Effectively diagnose and identify faults and failures with equipment and systems and provide effective solutions and **escalate** where necessary.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements and adhere to best working practices at all times, following processes laid down by the Health and Safety policy.
• Sponsor and complete drainage surveys and technical reports as necessary and to cascade all key data to relevant personnel throughout field operations.
• Be a Brand Ambassador for Arcus, you are what the client sees first; making a good impression, complying with the dress code and maintaining your vehicle in good condition.
• Actively support colleagues building a teamwork approach e.g. – supporting with training and up skilling of apprentices and communicating regularly and assisting when required.

• Understanding of CCTV and the ability to work unsupervised in a fast-paced environment dealing with store teams and members of the public
