Position: Full-time permanent

Salary: £32,240 to £34,320 + on call, overtime, and bonus

Founded in 1983, Metro Rod and its sister company Metro Plumb are leading drain clearance and maintenance service providers, operating through over 60 franchisees nationwide. With a reputation for quality and customer satisfaction, we serve major companies and high street brands, delivering high standards in drain maintenance and unblocking.

Within the Waste & Water Services Division of Franchise Brands, we also have Willow Pumps and Filta, focusing on sewage pumps and commercial kitchen solutions, providing comprehensive water and waste management services.

The role involves providing emergency and contracted services to commercial and domestic customers from our local centre in Cramlington.

What’s involved?

• Carrying out services related to emergency, cleaning, clearance, repair, installation, and maintenance of customer assets
• Delivering high standards of customer service and technical expertise
• Operating in accordance with H&S and Quality procedures
• Maintaining company vehicles and equipment
• Recording work details accurately via internal and client systems
• Communicating effectively to ensure excellent service
• Having a positive, helpful attitude
• Covering normal hours and on-call out-of-hours shifts on a rota, with flexibility for emergency situations
• Qualifications such as HPWJ, Confined Spaces, Street-works, CSCS card are advantageous but not essential (full training provided)
• Holding a full driving licence

What do we look for?

Candidates should demonstrate a positive attitude and possess skills in drainage clearance, cleaning, and repair of internal and external systems. Residence within Northumberland, Newcastle, Sunderland, Durham, or nearby postcode areas (NE, SR, DH) is preferred to meet service demands.

• Experience in commercial and domestic drainage
• Skills in drain cleaning, repairs, patch lining
• Drainage tickets (HPWJ, Confined Spaces, CSCS) are desirable
• Experience with CCTV surveys and lining is an advantage
• Positive, flexible, and proactive attitude
• Willingness to work occasional or unsociable hours
• Full UK driving licence
• Living in the Newcastle area
