Job description

Position: Gas Service Engineer

Location:

Aldershot, UK

Job Type:

Permanent

Salary:

£30,000 - £32,000

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Liaising with commercial and domestic customers on site.
  2. Providing professional customer service and engaging effectively with clients.
  3. Investigating and diagnosing issues through site surveys.
  4. Advising customers on solutions and implementing repairs or services, including:
  • Drain clearance
  • De-scaling and root cutting
  • Performing minor excavations and patch lining
  • Preventative maintenance
  • Using high-pressure water jetters, CCTV camera survey equipment, and rods
  • Identifying potential concerns and recommending additional work
  • Interpreting and working with drainage drawings
  • Operating independently within areas of expertise
  • Reviewing and adhering to project-specific risk assessments and method statements (RAMS)
  • Identifying and mitigating risks, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Driving brand awareness through professional appearance, interactions, and technical knowledge
  • Sharing knowledge and best practices with colleagues
  • Making recommendations to Regional Development Managers to support regional success
  • Resolving operational, performance, or compliance issues within the territory to protect brand reputation
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations
  • Communicating urgency to complete tasks efficiently and accurately, underpinned by KPIs
  • Performing any other duties within your capabilities
  • Requirements:
    • At least 1 year of experience in the drainage sector
    • Ideally 1 year of plumbing experience
    • Technical expertise in drainage and related functions
    • Drainage tanker experience (preferred)
    • Full clean UK driving license with flexibility to travel
    • CSCS card holder (preferred)
    • Ability to use a mobile phone for calls, photos, email, and CRM applications
    • High-pressure water jetting (HPWJ) certification
