Ceredigion County Council Direct Payment Support Service is seeking a friendly Personal Assistant to spend 3 hours a week during school terms supporting my son to enjoy social activities and build confidence.

You will pick him up, transport him to activities, encourage conversations, help him try new experiences, and foster independence while ensuring health and safety in a warm, trusting relationship.

Responsabilidades

• Pick my son up from home, provide transport to social activities and return him home safely
• Encourage him to start conversations, greet people and build positive relationships with his peers
• Support him to try new experiences and interests, such as travelling by bus or train
• Build and maintain a warm, consistent and trusting relationship
• Promote his independence while ensuring his health, safety and wellbeing at all times

About the role

We are looking for a friendly and dependable Personal Assistant to spend 3 hours a week during school terms supporting my son to enjoy social activities and build confidence away from his family. This is a rewarding opportunity to help a cheerful young person take part in his local community, try new experiences and develop friendships with his peers.

My son is cheerful, friendly and enjoys joking and chatting with others. His interests include reading at the library, Lego club, playing the piano, walking, and both real and model trains. At times, he may need gentle prompting to explain what is bothering him, and he responds best to clear, straightforward instructions and conversation. The right person will become a trusted adult who can help him feel comfortable, included and confident while taking part in social activities.

The post is funded through Ceredigion County Council’s Direct Payments scheme. Mandatory online PA training is provided, and you will be paid for the time spent completing it.
