INTRODUCTION

As a Downstream Project Analyst, you’ll support decision making across major capital projects by analysing project data, identifying risks, and helping improve performance. You’ll be part of a diverse and inclusive environment where your ideas are valued, and you’ll be encouraged to learn and grow.

KEY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Client-interfacing work to collect and analyse project technical data and uncover areas of risk
  • Apply statistical analysis using quantitative and statistical data to quantify your findings
  • Write reports to provide insight and recommendations for clients
  • Deliver verbal (virtual or in-person delivery) presentations to technical and business audiences
  • Work collaboratively with capital project teams and organisations to improve client competitiveness
  • Conduct research on the drivers of project success and failure using statistics and IPA’s database
  • Travel internationally to our Clients and other IPA offices on a regular basis, including the USA
ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for individuals who are curious, collaborative, and motivated by making a difference through data-driven insights. You’ll bring an analytical approach, strong attention to detail, and a genuine interest in how large-scale projects succeed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Masters or Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in engineering, science (physics, chemistry, petroleum, geology), statistics, operations research, economics, or allied fields
  • minimum of 1 year of relevant experience operating in your field of education
  • Proven record of carrying out independent research
  • Proven record of using a variety of statistical methods to analyse large amounts of data
SKILLS AND QUALITIES
  • Clear and confident communication skills in English, both written and spoken
  • Knowledge of an additional is , but not required
  • Demonstrable experience with Microsoft Office, including the PowerPoint and Excel functions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully liaise with people from other cultures
  • Excellent listening, presenting, and report writing skills with strong attention to detail
  • Able to demonstrate intellectual curiosity and organisational leadership
