Job Role: Support worker/Healthcare Assistant

The Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant will help and assist the team with daily routines, including personal care and feeding. Candidates must have at least 6 months of experience in care and demonstrate compassion.

Healthcare Assistants / Support Workers assist with the daily care of patients in homes, hospitals, or patients' own homes. They are vital members of teams in hospitals, homes, and clinics.

Previous experience and/or qualifications in care are essential. As a Healthcare Assistant and Support Worker, you will work under the supervision of nursing staff alongside other Healthcare Assistants. Duties may include:

• Helping patients with washing, showering, or dressing
• Assisting with feeding
• Making and changing beds
• Turning patients to prevent pressure sores
• Talking to patients to reduce anxiety
• Helping patients move around
• Assisting with toileting and collecting bedpans
• Maintaining cleanliness of wards or homes
• Managing supplies and equipment

Your daily tasks may involve using mobility aids and escorting patients within hospitals. With experience, you may participate in training new healthcare assistants.
