Job summary

Blythswood invites applications for a Warehouse and Shop Coordinator at Harbour Road, Inverness. You will manage the receipt, sorting and processing of donated goods, ensuring efficient flows and high standards of safety.

You will lead volunteers and staff, maximise Gift Aid, and help select stock for sale or redistribution. Join a busy shop team under the Missional Shop Manager, maintaining clear service to donors and customers while upholding Blythswood’s mission of relief and transformation

Qualifications

• Experience in a retail, warehouse or stock processing environment.
• Strong organisational ability to coordinate tasks and manage workflow.
• Good knowledge of health and safety, manual handling and storage.
• Clear communication with staff, volunteers, donors and customers.
• Ability to work independently and make practical decisions.
• Basic IT and numeracy skills for stock and transactions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate receipt, sorting and processing of donations to maintain flow.
• Provide welcoming service to donors and customers.
• Maximise Gift Aid opportunities and process donations correctly.
• Ensure literature is available and distributed appropriately at points.
• Select saleable stock and identify stock for redistribution.
• Sort unsuitable stock for recycling or disposal to minimise waste.
• Allocate day-to-day work to staff and volunteers under the Manager.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards across warehouse, shop and yard.
• Ensure safe storage and movement of donations, complying with safety rules.
• Prepare outgoing stock and liaise with Transport on collections.
• Ensure adequate supplies of boxes, pallets, cages and consumables.
• Identify and report operational or safety issues to the Manager.
• Support daily shop running, including till cover when needed.
• Undertake delegated duty management and escalate issues as required.
• Collaborate with colleagues to complete work safely and efficiently.
• Undertake other reasonable duties as required.
