Role Purpose

Are you ready to hit the road and make a real difference? As a Domiciliary Optometrist, you'll be doing just that! You'll be bringing expert eye care directly to people who are unable to visit our stores, delivering vital services right to their doorsteps. But it's not just about sight - you'll also be helping customers with essential tasks, bringing care and smiles to their homes. You'll play a key role in improving the lives of people in your community while being an integral part of our team, helping the business to continue to thrive.

The Position

We are seeking a confident, compassionate Optometrist with great communication and patient care skills who is ready to step away from the high street and enjoy the freedom of working on the road and visiting patients in their homes. You'll be part of a close-knit team, supported by an experienced Optical Assistant, and support team and the latest technology which will help schedule your appointments & routes to maximise your efficiency. What's more, whilst you're making a real difference to your patients most in need, you're also enjoying the work-life balance of a Monday to Friday role with no ties to a high street store and an industry leading package!

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct sight tests for patients unable to visit high street practices, working autonomously to deliver patient-focused eye care (up to 10 per day)
  • Provide guidance on eye health, eyewear options, and frame selection.
  • Communicate test results and recommendations to patients and their families if necessary.
  • Supporting a wider team of Optometrists, fostering a collaborative environment and support group to share best practice.
  • Working closely with your Optical Assistant to provide clinical support and advice.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of examinations and treatments.
  • Stay updated with advancements in optometry practices and technologies.

The Ideal Candidate

  • GOC qualified (or expecting to be registered in the coming months)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a customer-first mindset, with empathy and patience to support those in need.
  • Exceptional organisational skills
  • A full and clean driving license.

The Package and Benefits

  • Up to £70,000 basic salary plus a company car or £5,000 car allowance
  • Welcome bonus of £10,000
  • 33 days holiday including bank holidays
  • Private healthcare
  • All business travel expenses covered in full
  • All professional fees paid for
  • Birthday off
  • Exceptional work-life balance with no weekends!

If you're ready to help drive our practice forward and make a genuine difference to people in your community, then we can't wait to hear from you!
