This is a domiciliary care job not a care home so you will be visiting/travelling to clients at their homes.
Responsibilities
- To support service users with getting up, including washing or bathing and dressing and preparing for the day ahead.
- To support with personal grooming, hair and mouth care.
- To support with toileting and continence needs, this may involve continence aids, commodes and catheters.
- To support with preparation of meals and drinks, including feeding if required ensuring good nutrition and hydration is maintained.
- To carry out basic domestic tasks to ensure that the service user’s home is left clean and tidy.
- To carry out bed making and changing.
- To support with getting undressed and preparing for or going to bed.
- To support with mobility and manual handling needs as assessed and documented.
- To support and engage with service users in social activities, hobbies and pastimes.
- To support with physical health needs.
- To support with prescribed medication.
- To support with emotional well-being.
- To ensure that at all times the service user is supported and encouraged to maintain independence and control.
- To keep accurate records and maintain the confidentiality of service user information.
- To ensure that any changes or concerns relating to service users are reported to the manager.
- To comply with organisational policies and procedures and relevant law and legislation, including the CQC Fundamental Standards to ensure the safety and well being of service users and self.
- To work in partnership with other health care professionals, including GP’s and District Nurses.
- To attend training, supervision and meetings as required for personal support and development.
