Job summary

Shaw healthcare is seeking a Domestic Supervisor to lead the domestic team in our care home. You'll oversee cleaning, hygiene and presentation, ensuring residents' rooms and communal areas are clean, comfortable and welcoming.

You will organise workloads, develop staff, carry out checks and maintain high standards while working with residents and colleagues. The role emphasises dignity and privacy with a positive, supportive culture and opportunities for training and service improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience as cleaner, housekeeper or domestic team member.
• Must be a confident and supportive team leader.
• Able to prioritise effectively and maintain high standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and supporting the domestic team on a day-to-day basis.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation.
• Ensuring residents' rooms and communal areas are clean and welcoming.
• Organising workloads and allocating tasks for efficiency.
• Motivating and developing team members.
• Carrying out regular checks to ensure standards are met.
• Overseeing laundry processes and ensuring efficiency.
• Using cleaning products safely and correctly.
• Following COSHH, health and safety procedures.
• Respecting residents' dignity and privacy.
• Leading by example and promoting a positive team culture.
• Ordering stock and cleaning supplies.
• Working with the team to deliver service during busy periods.

As a Domestic Supervisor, you'll play an important role in ensuring our home is clean, comfortable, welcoming and maintained to the highest possible standard.

What you'll be doing

• Supervising and supporting the domestic team on a day-to-day basis
• Ensuring high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation are consistently maintained
• Helping ensure residents' rooms and communal areas are clean, comfortable and welcoming
• Organising workloads and allocating tasks to ensure the domestic service runs effectively
• Supporting, motivating and developing members of the domestic team
• Carrying out regular checks to ensure standards are maintained
• Overseeing laundry processes and ensuring they are completed efficiently
• Ensuring cleaning products and equipment are used correctly and safely
• Following relevant COSHH, health and safety and infection-control procedures
• Ensuring our residents' dignity, privacy and individual needs are always respected
• Leading by example and promoting a positive, respectful and supportive team culture
• Ordering stock and cleaning supplies.
• Working alongside the team when required, ensuring we continue to deliver an excellent service even during busy periods.

Candidate Requirements

• An experienced cleaner, housekeeper or domestic team member
• A confident and supportive team leader
• Organised and able to prioritise effectively
• Someone who notices the little details others might miss
• Reliable, professional and takes pride in high standards
• Comfortable working independently and using your own initiative
• Confident communicating with colleagues, residents and visitors
• Experience supervising a domestic, housekeeping or cleaning team would be an advantage.
• Experience within residential care, nursing homes, hotels, hospitality or similar environments is also welcomed.
