A healthcare services provider in Darlington is seeking Domestic Assistants to maintain cleanliness at Darlington Memorial Hospital. Responsibilities include cleaning duties and effective communication with staff and patients. Candidates will receive training towards an NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Cleaning and Support Services. This is a shift-based role that requires flexibility and good personal hygiene.
Synchronicity Care Limited (SCL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust (CDDFT). SCL provides non-clinical Estates, Facilities, and Procurement services to CDDFT.
Successful post holders will be responsible for carrying out cleaning and related duties following set procedures and standards to maintain cleanliness throughout the environment. They will work as part of a team, using initiative to prioritise and organise daily duties while maintaining a professional approach at all times. Effective communication with staff, visitors, and patients regarding departmental cleaning hygiene is essential. Flexibility to meet the needs of the service and adherence to policies and procedures are required.
This is an excellent opportunity within SCL for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and committed individual to join the Domestic Services Team at Darlington Memorial Hospital. Domestic Assistants play a vital role in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment 24/7 for patients, staff, and visitors in a busy acute hospital setting.
The ideal candidate may have previous healthcare cleaning experience; however, full training will be provided. All post holders are expected to work towards gaining an NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Cleaning and Support Services. They should be able to work independently, be caring, flexible, reliable, and maintain good personal hygiene.
SCL is a separate legal entity set up to deliver non-clinical services, distinct from CDDFT.
Successful candidates will work shifts including weekends and will be subject to a 6-month probationary period.
Bank work is offered on an 'as and when' basis with no guaranteed hours and paid pro-rata for hours worked.
