About The Role

We are looking for a Domestic Operative to join our adult service. This job involves ensuring all residential accommodation, offices, and communal areas are clean, safe, and provide a pleasant environment for people to live and work in, whilst complying with all relevant Health and Safety legislation.The role may also include working in the central laundry to ensure people’s items are laundered in a timely manner and in line with all relevant Health and Safety legislation.
While Operatives will work at a main site, work around the Group may be required.
In this role, you will ensure that the environment is kept at a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness for the people we support. You will do this by: ensuring records are completed clearly and promptly, following agreed work schedules, and working to relevant standards, including Health and Safety legislation. You and your colleagues will work as a team to meet the needs of the people we support. You will also be mindful of resource usage to ensure materials and equipment are not wasted, allowing funds to be allocated to other priorities. You will be suitably qualified and trained, follow best practices, and demonstrate a commitment to learning.
Because you are working where the people we support live, you must take extra care with cleaning materials and equipment, making sure they cannot be accessed by unauthorized persons.
The shift pattern for this role is Monday - Friday. Hours can be discussed at the interview.

About You

The successful candidate must have a good knowledge of general health and safety regulations, such as Health and Safety at Work, COSHH, Food Safety, and Infection Control. You will also need experience in using cleaning equipment and materials in care settings to prevent harm to others.
It is essential that you have knowledge of general cleaning tasks and experience in using equipment and materials in situations where care is needed to prevent harm to others.
You must be able to follow schedules and produce high-quality work while maintaining positive relationships with people and staff in a busy environment. You will need to interact with external visitors in a welcoming and helpful manner, communicate clearly and effectively, and follow established procedures, with a willingness to suggest improvements.
Maintaining appropriate confidentiality levels in this role is vital.
