Job description

Due to continued success and growth, JEM Property Services is now looking to recruit a Domestic Gas Engineer - Plumber to join our team in Portsmouth.

This position is suitable for candidates with experience in a broad range of maintenance skills who are adaptable to cover various tasks within the business and have moved into gas. It may also suit an apprentice looking to advance in their gas and plumbing career. Newly qualified candidates will also be considered.

What will I be responsible for?

At JEM Property Services, we specialize in delivering high-quality, reliable reactive repairs, after-sales services, and maintenance, as well as plumbing, central heating, and electrical services across the South of England.

As a Domestic Gas Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

1. Attending boiler breakdowns
2. Conducting repairs to heating systems
3. Servicing boilers and heating systems
4. Unvented cylinder repairs, installations, and servicing
5. Fixing general plumbing leaks and replacing parts
6. Conducting landlord LGSR inspections
7. Boiler installations

Candidates must hold current domestic gas accreditations and qualifications, plumbing qualifications, and an unvented cylinder certificate. Additional skills and experience include:

1. Experience diagnosing boiler faults across various makes and models
2. LPG certification (advantageous but not essential)
3. Boiler installation experience (advantageous)
4. Ability to fit WCs, basins, taps, showers, and baths of all types
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
6. Smart appearance and good written skills
7. Excellent customer service skills
8. Clean driving license
9. Ability to pass a DBS check

Note: The role requires participation in an out-of-hours rota, including weekends.
