Domestic Gas Engineer/Plumber

Due to continued success and growth, JEM Property Services is now looking to recruit a Domestic Gas Engineer - Plumber to join our team in Portsmouth.

This position would suit a candidate with experience in a wide range of maintenance skills who is adaptable to cover numerous tasks within the business and has transitioned into gas. This may be suitable for an apprentice looking to advance in their gas and plumbing career. Newly qualified candidates will also be considered.

What will I be responsible for?

At JEM Property Services, we specialize in delivering high-quality, reliable reactive repairs, after-sales services, and maintenance, including plumbing, central heating, and electrical services across the South of England. Joining our team as a Domestic Gas Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Attending boiler breakdowns
  2. Conducting repairs to heating systems
  3. Boiler and heating system servicing
  4. Unvented cylinder repairs, installations, and servicing
  5. Fixing general plumbing leaks and replacing parts
  6. Conducting landlord LGSR inspections
  7. Boiler installations

Candidates must hold current domestic gas accreditations and qualifications, plumbing qualifications, and an unvented cylinder certificate.

Additional skills and experience required include:

  • Experience diagnosing boiler faults across various makes and models
  • LPG certification (advantageous but not essential)
  • Boiler installation experience (an advantage)
  • Ability to fit WCs, basins, taps, showers, and baths of all types
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Smart appearance and good communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Clean driving license
  • Ability to pass a DBS check

Note: Due to the nature of this role, there is a requirement to be on the out-of-hours rota covering weekends.
