Domestic Heating Engineer - Renewables

£(phone number removed) per annum & vehicle & package & OT, (OTE £55K)

Job Summary

To carry out servicing, remedial repairs and breakdown repairs of Domestic Gas Boilers and unvented cylinders within occupied and unoccupied properties. To meet the requirement and expectations of the Client or his/her representative in accordance with the Clients detailed specification, in a timely fashion and in compliance with current gas legislation.

Essential Qualifications/Skills
  1. Must hold current ACS qualifications (CCN1, CENWAT, CPA1, CKR1, HTR1)
  2. Full UK Driving Licence
Package on offer:
  1. Basic salary circa £45k per annum

  7. Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours per week
  8. 21 days holiday increasing by 1 day every 2 years' service up to a maximum of 25 days, plus statutory days
  9. Paid weekly via bacs
Main Responsibilities:
  1. To have a detailed knowledge and experience of main boiler manufacturer installation and servicing requirements and instructions.
  2. To be proficient in carrying out full commissioning of gas heating boilers and associated controls on completion of installation or servicing works.
  3. Capable of quickly developing the above skills into the application of work on the heat pumps and thermal installations.
  4. To be able to demonstrate and have a good fault finding/diagnostic skill and to carry out necessary repairs/replacement of defective parts etc.
  5. To ensure that all work carried out complies with the relevant sections of the 'Health and Safety at Work Act' (risk assessment, asbestos awareness etc.)
  6. To take part in 'out-of-hours' emergency call out on a rota basis.
The Ideal Candidate Will
  1. Have good practical skills and problem-solving skills.
  2. Have the ability to work carefully, methodically and safely.
  3. Be able to work with minimal supervision as the majority of work is carried out in a lone working environment.
  4. Have good communication skills both written and spoken.
  5. Be a good team player.
  6. Have good customer care skills.
  7. Be asbestos aware.
  8. Be recognised and trained to work with vulnerable persons.
  9. Have knowledge of the risk assessment process.
  10. Be willing to work in confined spaces and at height.
  11. Good Breakdown knowledge.
  12. Be able to cover callout on a Rota basis.
  13. Live within Hertfordshire Preferably.
