Job summary

Purely Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Domestic Electrical Testing Engineer in Swindon for a temporary-to-permanent role. Typical hours are 8.00am - 16.30pm with a 30-minute lunch, and work sites include domestic homes within a local area.

The ideal candidate will have 18th Edition BS 7671, Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installation, and 2391/2394/2395 testing qualifications with an ECS card. You will perform EICRs, undertake remedial works, and report findings digitally.

Qualifications

• 18th Edition (BS 7671) is required.
• 2391 Testing & Inspection qualification and ECS card are essential.
• Strong understanding of domestic electrical systems and safety standards.
• Ability to work independently across multiple properties per day.

Responsibilities

• Perform Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) in domestic homes.
• Inspect electrical installations to BS 7671 standards.
• Carry out remedial works after failed EICRs.
• Diagnose faults and complete corrective actions.
• Document findings using laptops/tablets with digital reporting tools.
• Liaise with tenants, housing officers or property managers to enable access.
