Job description

iPeople SC Solutions is currently recruiting for Domestic Assistants to work for our client based in Camden and surrounding areas.

The successful post holder will follow a cleaning program to ensure areas are clean and safe places for colleagues, children, parents, and other visitors.

The successful post holder will be required to work at different locations within the borough.

Duties & Responsibilities as a Domestic Assistant
  • To carry out, but not limited to, general and periodic cleaning tasks to the standards required in accordance with the cleaning schedule and using a variety of cleaning methods, machinery and materials, and adhering to the relevant safety regulations.
  • To professionally carry out desired service tasks, but not limited to, as requested and to the required standards.
  • To always operate within health & safety guidelines, following all risk assessments & method statements relating to your tasks.
  • To always use the correct chemical for the desired task paying attention to the COSHH and safety information.
  • To maintain a professional relationship with all personnel on site.
  • To be proactive, report damage, defects, accidents, near misses etc. to the line manager/supervisor.
  • To take ownership of your allocated area, ensuring cleaning standards are maintained to required level, reporting any concerns to the line manager/supervisor.
  • To work as part of a team, supporting others, and covering priority tasks in the absence of team members across the borough wide service.
  • To maintain the security of the cleaning cupboard/store to prevent access by unauthorized users.
  • To notify the line manager/supervisor when stocks of cleaning equipment are running low.
  • To attend training courses and meetings as arranged.
  • To wear, and look after, any uniform or personal protective equipment that is issued to you.
  • To safely operate and monitor all plant and equipment used.
  • To maintain up to date records of work carried out.
  • To undertake any other duties as may reasonably be requested by the Business Manager.
Requirements of this Domestic Assistant role
  • Previous experience of commercial cleaning of office and communal accommodation.
  • BICs training would be an advantage.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills to enable the clear understanding of safety data sheets provided on the use of cleaning materials and equipment.
  • There is a need to be physically fit to carry out duties of the post (e.g., standing, bending, carrying equipment and moving furniture etc. throughout the working day).
  • Infection Control training.
  • Current Enhanced DBS.

Working Hours: Between 15.00 – 18.00 (This may vary), Monday – Friday
