Domestic Assistant

Our client based in Glamorgan, Cardiff, is looking for a domestic assistant to join their team.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Promote the principles of care.
2. Undertake general domestic duties, including cleaning internal glass windows and doors, floors, carpets, bedrooms, bathrooms, toilets, wall surfaces, furnishings, and furniture. This may involve cleaning spillages and bodily fluids.
3. Perform laundry duties such as washing, drying, ironing, folding clothes and linen, and occasionally mending clothing/linen items.
4. Use materials and equipment according to instructions, adhering to guidance and procedures, including infection control, health and safety, and COSHH regulations.
5. Assist in the distribution, transportation, and serving of meals, drinks, and snacks, possibly including the transportation of a meals or drinks trolley.
6. Communicate any concerns about residents, the home’s fabric, or the need to order cleaning supplies to relevant team members.
7. Provide general assistance during and after mealtimes, such as laying and clearing dining tables.
8. Clean communal areas where food and drinks are prepared and served, and assist with washing crockery and cutlery as needed.

Requirements:

• Must have a valid, up-to-date Enhanced DBS.
• Reliable and flexible in approach to work.
• Demonstrate sensitivity, patience, tolerance, and a non-judgmental approach.
• Ability to drive/travel throughout the Vale or between locations as appropriate.
• Understand and respect confidentiality.
• Willingness to undertake training.
• Commitment to the Council's equal opportunities policy.
• Experience in undertaking a full range of general cleaning duties, including the use of electrical equipment.
