Purpose and Objectives of Post:
- To undertake housekeeping and laundry management within Starmount Villa to ensure that customers experience a good quality stay to hotel standards.
- To contribute to the personal needs of the customer and ensure they enjoy a good quality of life by maintaining a friendly, caring, clean, and tidy environment.
- To ensure a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the workplace, maintaining a safe environment and robust infection control.
Control of Resources:
- Removal of hazards to ensure safety, health, and well-being of others using the premises.
- Management of cleaning materials and equipment relevant to duties.
- Safe keeping of uniforms and other provided equipment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Adhere to cleaning rotas and maintain high standards of housekeeping across all areas.
- Ensure all areas are hygienic and cleaned according to rota schedules, including floors, surfaces, and appliances.
- Undertake laundry duties, including sorting, logging, and storing laundered items.
- Maintain cleanliness in kitchen areas, including appliances and cupboards.
- Assist in moving furniture as needed for cleaning tasks.
- Communicate professionally and courteously with relatives and staff, respecting confidentiality.
Health and Safety:
- Implement safety measures to secure the environment and prevent hazards.
- Carry out physical environment tasks to meet health and safety standards, including cleaning and tidying after incidents.
- Maintain personal appearance and cleanliness, including uniform management.
- Ensure equipment is safe, clean, and operational before use.
- Support emergency planning and setup of rest centres during emergencies.
Personal Development:
- Attend relevant training, including mandatory and refresher courses.
- Experience in social care is desirable.
