As a Domestic Assistant you will be responsible for keeping wards, offices, and public areas clean to a high standard. You will work as part of the domestic service team, and the wider community within the hospital setting.
Available hours are:
Entry Requirements – There is no entry requirement to become a domestic assistant, however you may be required to complete NVQ Level 1 in cleaning.
Training – When you start as a domestic you will attend an induction and all relevant training will be given.
Communication skills – You will need good communication skills as well as a caring and sensitive nature.
Physical Fitness – There is a physical component to working as a domestic assistant as you may be on your feet for long periods of time. A combination of physical fitness and knowledge of proper lifting and manual handling techniques allows you to properly perform the full range of your duties.

Domestic Assistant are responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleaning in line with infection prevention. You will work from a daily/weekly schedule in both clinical and non-clinical areas, making sure that the hospital is clean, and that patients have a pleasant and safe stay.
