Job summary

Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a Domestic Services Assistant to support a clean and hygienic environment across the site. You will follow the Cleaning Plan and National Standards, removing waste correctly and maintaining safety procedures.

Full time and part hours are available, with a focus on courteous communication with patients and staff while supporting cross-site work as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of the environment and remove waste following proper bagging and labelling procedures.
• Follow the Cleaning Plan and schedules as set out by National Standards of Cleanliness.
• Communicate politely with patients, visitors and staff to ensure safety instructions are understood.
• Contribute to professional working relationships with patients, clients, visitors and other staff.
• Adhere to all procedures relating to personal safety and security of the premises.

To assist in creating a clean and hygienic environment at all times, whilst providing a professional and quality service to all users.

To meet the Trust’s Cleaning Plan by adhering to the cleaning frequencies and schedules, as set out by the National Standards of Cleanliness.

Full time and part hours available

To create, contribute and maintain a professional and effective working relationship with patients, clients, visitors & other staff members.

To communicate with other staff, patients and visitors in a courteous manner ensuring that any instructions to maintain their safety are understood.

To have full regard to the security of the premises and the environment at all times.

Diligently follow all laid down procedures in relation to key disciplines and personal safety.

Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of the environment by the removal and disposal of waste & refuse, ensuring the correct use of bags and labelling procedures.
