A new opportunity has arisen for a Domestic Assistant to join the Medirest family. We are looking for new members to join our dedicated team, delivering outstanding cleaning services for patients, visitors, and staff of the hospital.

As a Domestic Assistant, you will play a vital role in infection control, helping to keep the hospital operating smoothly. Your work is essential in enabling the hospital to provide life-changing medical services. This isn’t just any cleaning job; it’s a role that makes a real difference.

Shift pattern:

• Mon: Evenings
• Tues: Evenings
• Weds: Evenings
• Thurs: Evenings
• Fri: Evenings
• Sat: Flexible
• Sun: Flexible

Responsibilities include:

• Dusting, mopping, wiping, and scrubbing surfaces, including high and low dusting.
• Cleaning wards, side rooms, toilets, showers, infected, and public areas.
• Maintaining rubbish bins and removing waste when full.
• Ensuring all areas are clean, presentable, and safe, following policies and procedures.
• Using equipment safely and in accordance with health & safety guidelines.

Qualifications and qualities:

• Passionate about patient care, with effective communication skills with patients, visitors, and healthcare staff.
• Ability to work under pressure, independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach.
• Comfortable working in a hospital environment and interacting with unwell or distressed patients.
• No prior experience as a Domestic Assistant is required; pride in your work and a willingness to learn are most important.
• This position is subject to a Disclosure & Barring Service check, with costs met by the employer.
