Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a domestic assistant to join our team.

The successful candidate will provide domestic services to patients, staff, and visitors at NHS Lanarkshire premises, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment that meets NHSL and Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI) standards. The role includes supporting new staff in the working environment.

We prioritize patient care and rely on our colleagues to deliver healthcare services across a population of 655,000 in North and South Lanarkshire, including acute hospital services, primary healthcare, and social care partnerships.

What you'll need to bring
  • Knowledge of cleaning standards and procedures.
  • Willingness to undertake on-the-job training and induction (4-6 weeks) to achieve full competency.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety, including risk assessment participation.
  • Completion of NHS Lanarkshire mandatory training and Health Care Support Worker standards.
  • Completion of NHSS Domestic Services Workbook.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work well with others and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to perform tasks efficiently in a busy environment.
  • Basic knowledge of information technology.

Please note: a full UK/EU/EEA driving license is required for roles that necessitate driving.

Contract type

Permanent, Part Time (15.78 hours)

This is a part-time position with pro-rata salary.

Location and Working Pattern

This role is based in the Domestic Services Department at Central Health Centre, Cumbernauld, covering other sites in Cumbernauld & Airdrie.

Working hours: Mon - Thu: 1715-2030 & Fri: 1700-1947
