Job summary

Dogs Trust Company Limited is seeking a Dog Welfare Assistant at our Harefield rehoming centre to provide daily care for dogs, educate potential owners, and ensure excellent visitor service. This fixed-term, part-time role offers the chance to contribute to animal welfare within a busy team.

The ideal candidate is an energetic team player with empathy for people and dogs, experienced in handling dogs, knowledgeable about basic dog behaviour and health issues, and holds a full manual driving

Qualifications

• Commitment to animal welfare and Dogs Trust aims.
• Excellent communication and empathy with people and animals are essential.
• Strong team player with energy and a positive attitude.
• Experience working with or handling dogs.
• Knowledge of basic dog behaviour and health issues.
• Full, manual driving licence is essential for the role.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care to dogs in the rehoming centre in line with Dogs Trust's code of practice and Health and Safety guidelines.
• Educate potential new owners and the general public on dog care and welfare.
• Deliver excellent customer service to all visitors to the centre.
