Job summary

Derby College Group seeks a proactive Curriculum Support Assistant to join the Dog Grooming team at Broomfield Hall. You will assist practical grooming sessions, manage stock, and help maintain a clean, professional salon environment, supporting student learning and animal welfare.

You will work with staff and learners to promote high standards and participate in events and the annual Dog Festival, fostering community engagement.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Dog Grooming Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience delivering excellent customer service.
• Previous experience in a commercial dog grooming environment is essential.
• Current industry knowledge and relevant CPD.
• First Aid qualification advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operation of the Dog Grooming Salon, maintaining cleanliness and organisation.
• Assist practical grooming sessions and stock checks; maintain equipment.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.
• Promote the salon through events and community activities, including the annual Dog Festival.
• Build positive relationships with students, clients, and colleagues to maintain a welcoming salon environment.
