Job description

Documentation Operative - Birmingham – Permanent Role

Salary: £26,000 per annum

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, Days

Silver Arrow require a Documentation Operative for our client based in the Birmingham area.

Your Role:

To work within a department, based at their Birmingham HQ on the Birmingham Business Park (near to the NEC and Birmingham International Railway Station):

  1. Using internal systems to create documentation that will enable freight to be moved to customer specifications, on time with all the necessary customs and legal documentation, including:
  2. Raise customs documentation to ensure the freight can move from country to country.
  3. Collate all documents and distribute them to customers and carriers, as required.
  4. Preparing, processing and checking of invoices.
  5. Develop and build relationships to ensure a high level of customer service is provided to clients.
  6. Take requests and queries and resolve them effectively and efficiently.
  7. Communicate with overseas agents and clients clearly, precisely and accurately.
  8. Ensure that the departmental manager is aware of the status of all shipments.
What we need from you:
  1. Good verbal and written communication, to provide a professional image to customers and suppliers.
  2. The capacity to work in a high-pressure environment whilst remaining calm when under pressure.
  3. The ability to liaise with a global network of agents, suppliers, shipping lines, hauliers.
  4. The skill to prioritise a large number of tasks to ensure accuracy, and deliver results with great attention to detail and a high sense of urgency.
  5. A positive attitude and good problem-solving skills.
  6. The drive to succeed and want to make a contribution to the business.
