Canon Cambridge has a vacancy for a digital print operator to join the team at the secondary site in Papworth Everard, working on a rotating double day shift. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in time-critical digital print using variable personalised data, which requires multiple stock changes in a 100% quality-focused environment.

You will be highly computer literate and will have good knowledge of workflow management and the management of print queues.

This position will require you to deal directly with end users, so customer service focus is essential.

There may also be a requirement to provide cover in the high-volume inkjet print department working on Canon CS3700 printers with booklet makers. Experience in this area is desirable, though full training will be provided.

Although the role will be primarily based at Papworth Everard, there will also be a requirement to work at our primary site at Whittlesford.

What we ask

You will require the following experience:

  • Working knowledge of transactional print, unstructured print
  • Working knowledge of mid to high-volume digital toner and inkjet print equipment, ideally Canon VP6000 / CS3700.
  • Digital volume color print experience would be advantageous.
  • Experience within a competitive commercial environment
  • Knowledge of job composition software and management of print queues is desirable
  • Good understanding of digital print technologies within mid to high volume production areas.
  • A high-quality assurance-focused approach, exhibiting a reliable and responsible attitude
  • Well organized with good communication and presentation skills
