Job summary

Minerva is seeking a GMC registered Doctor to join as a Functional Assessor on a hybrid/permanent basis. You will assess how conditions affect daily living and prepare detailed reports for DWP decisions, including PIP, WCA and IIB, in a role that blends clinical expertise with structured documentation.

Applicants should have 1 year post-internship experience, with UK work rights, and strong communication skills. Flexible full-time/part-time/hybrid opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Full right to work in the UK; visa types accepted such as Dependant Visa.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; report drafting ability.

You will carry out assessments to understand how a person’s disability or health condition affects their daily life and produce factual reports to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine their eligibility for benefits.

These are the range of services/benefits you will be providing reports for:

• Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
• Work Capability Assessments (WCA)
• Industrial Injuries Benefit (IIB)

What we look for:

• 5 years experience post registration/FY1 as a Doctor OR 3 years post registration experience if 2 of those years are working as a Functional Assessor in the UK.
• GMC registered doctor with minimum 1 year’s broad-based clinical experience post-internship/FY1
• Full Right to Work in UK (some visas types are accepted such as Dependant Visa)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Comfortable using computer software to type and produce detailed reports
• Experience working with a diverse range of conditions, including complex and mental health cases
