About Our Client

My client, a well-known global transport group valued at over £800m, has over 30 years of expertise in public transport and customer experience in the UK. Since 2015, they have expanded internationally, securing multiple contracts across five countries including Australia and Singapore.

The group was sold in 2022 to a consortium of overseas investors and is now led by a new Executive Leadership team with a new strategy focused on profitable growth and sustainability.

The company is based in South London and operates a 5-day office work policy.

Job Description

As the Finance Director for the group's largest division, with an annual turnover of approximately £600m, you will lead the entire finance function, ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the business.

This key role involves strategic financial planning, process improvement, driving performance, providing commercial insights, and maintaining robust financial controls across the company. You will work closely with the executive team to align financial strategies with the overall business objectives and long-term vision.

The Successful Applicant

• ACA or ACCA qualified
• Experience with Big 4 or Top 6 firms is desirable
• Experience managing large finance teams
• Experience in contract tendering
• Experience in dynamic and complex organizations
• Proactive in driving and instigating change
• Knowledge of best practice finance processes and industry-specific processes
• Ability to collaborate with stakeholders across finance, FP&A, procurement, operations, engineering, etc.
• Capable of working under pressure, delivering high-quality output and reporting quickly and efficiently
• Experience level suitable for a senior role or readiness to progress to one
• Flexible to be contacted outside of working hours, given industry demands
• Proven ability to deliver clear, concise reports and present effectively to senior stakeholders
