Job summary

Trinity House Group in Birmingham seeks a Divisional Finance Director to shape the finance function and partner with the Divisional MD and leadership team. You will own the division's financial performance and provide commercial insight to drive profitability.

You will lead month-end, budgeting, forecasting, and contract commercial oversight, building a high-performing finance team while influencing strategic decision-making and risk management across the division.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA or CIMA credentials.
• Strong technical accounting foundation and commercial acumen.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of divisional finance including month end, reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Own the control environment and ensure robust financial reporting into Group.
• Provide commercial oversight of contracts: bid reviews, pricing, performance and margins.
• Identify and manage commercial and financial risk across the contract portfolio.
• Partner with the Divisional MD and operational leaders to drive profitable growth.
• Lead, develop and build a high performing finance team.

Trinity House Group are working exclusively with a well established and growing business with a strong market position and ambitious plans for the future. As the group continues to develop, it has created a new Divisional Finance Director role to strengthen financial leadership within one of its key divisions.

The Role

This is a newly created position, giving the successful candidate the chance to shape the finance function and establish themselves as a trusted partner to the Divisional MD and leadership team. You will own the division's financial performance and bring commercial rigour to decision making across the business.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading all aspects of divisional finance, including month end, reporting, budgeting and forecasting
• Owning the control environment and ensuring robust, accurate financial reporting into Group
• Providing commercial oversight of contracts, including bid reviews, pricing, contract performance and margin management
• Identifying and managing commercial and financial risk across the contract portfolio
• Partnering with the Divisional MD and operational leaders to drive profitable growth
• Leading, developing and building a high performing finance team

About You

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with a strong technical accounting foundation
• Proven commercial experience in contract driven environments, with confidence challenging and influencing on contract terms, pricing and performance
• Experience operating at Finance Director or senior Head of Finance level, ideally within a divisional or multi site structure
• A natural business partner with the presence to influence senior stakeholders
• Comfortable building structure and process in a role that is still taking shape
