New Divisional Finance Director opportunity for a leading professional business in South Manchester.
Main Responsibilities:
Working closely alongside the residential Managing Directors:
- Provide independent financial reporting and advice to the Main Board and regional Board members in relation to all UK residential operations.
- Monitor the residential division's commercial departments to ensure proper control of expenditure and reporting of development performance and KPI.
- Oversee the year-end statutory accounts process for the Residential Division and assist with the group statutory accounts to ensure timely production and a clean audit sign-off.
Duties to include:
- Responsibility for timely and robust management reporting of the UK residential operations to inform the Main Board and Residential Board on financial and operational performance.
- Work closely with operational management across regions to establish budgets, present results, forecasts, cash flow projections, and KPIs at various board meetings.
- Review and assess budgets as part of rolling forecasts, reporting key observations and divergence from budgets to the board.
- Monitor and report on site performance against original appraisals and budgets, including reforecasting and margin analysis.
- Oversee the monthly production of regional site CRVs.
- Manage a team of 8 direct reports and collaborate with regional Directors to identify opportunities for improved net returns.
- Review land appraisals for viability and challenge regional land teams on land bank requirements.
- Contribute to sales and marketing initiatives, including pricing strategies based on site performance and market activity.
- Manage the development of the division's COINS ERP system to improve real-time KPI and management reporting, and facilitate its rollout across other group companies.
- Lead the residential finance team through the year-end audit process, ensuring robust statutory accounts and compliance with reporting standards.
- Maintain strong financial procedures and controls to safeguard assets and ensure legal, statutory, and tax compliance.
- Oversee monthly management reporting and statutory accounts for smaller entities within the division.
- Coordinate with funders to manage facilities, ensure compliance with covenants, and support timely debt payments and covenant submissions.
- Work with the Group Finance Director to monitor cash flows, safeguard cash, and maximize returns.
