Main duties of the job

To take full responsibility and accountability for the operation and performance of the Division through a clearly defined Service Line structure, using the four key enablers - financial planning and management, information support, strategic and annual planning and performance management - to ensure the services the Trust offers to patients are of the highest levels of safety and quality, provided by professionals with the right skills, attitude and values, are cost effective and remain within budget, and are able to respond to the developing business environment.

The Divisional Director will take responsibility and accountability for the delivery of the Divisional annual operating plan and ensuring that systems are in place for the efficient and effective day-to-day operational management of the Division, ensuring effective agreement exists across and between Divisions in the delivery of strategic and operational objectives and in the delivery of integrated care pathways.

About us

We operatefrom three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, andUlverstonCommunity Health Centre.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies,daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
