Qualifications

  • Mindestens GCSEs in Englisch und Mathematik erforderlich.
  • Rechtliches Bewusstsein, insbesondere bezüglich des Equality Act 2010.

Responsibilities

Salary (£26,106.00 - £28,653.00) + Allowances

The closing date for this post is 12 midday 08-May-2025.

Those currently eligible on the redeployment register will be given prior consideration.

The main purpose of the role is to work in identifying and elevating the voice of communities we don’t readily hear from, in addition to building and strengthen relationships with all elements of Warwickshire’s population to provide reassurance, increase confidence and improve trust in Warwickshire’s policing services, to reduce both crime and the fear of crime.

Main Responsibilities

Conduct high visibility uniform patrol and engagement in accordance with the National Intelligence Model (NIM).

Act as a focal point for the community to improve confidence and trust in Warwickshire Police.

Support the force, regular police officers and community groups in building and maintaining good community relations, by ensuring the force is providing a service that is responsive to and in alignment with local needs.

Use powers of enforcement in a discretionary manner to enhance the quality of life of residents.

Identify and explore new and innovative ways of engaging with the diverse communities of Warwickshire, using critical thinking and problem-solving techniques, along with any other relevant methodologies.

Act as a focal point for the collection and appropriate dissemination of intelligence in line with the NIM.

Develop strong and meaningful working relations with key community bodies, individuals, and networks, providing support to the vulnerable and encouraging community cohesion.

Ensure integrity, fairness and consideration of the needs of others are incorporated into the daily duties, in all relationships (both internally with colleagues and externally the wider community).

Provide support with and attend the local Independent Advisory Group meetings, in recognition of their importance in community engagement.

To undertake any other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required.

Knowledge

  • Grade A-C GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
  • Legal awareness and understanding, e.g. court procedures and government regulations, but particularly in respect of The Equality Act 2010

Experience

  • Dealing with members of the public including dealing with confrontational and conflict situations
  • Gathering and analysing information to solve problems
  • Patience and able to remain calm in stressful situations

Key Skills

  • Good customer service skills and excellent interpersonal skills
  • IT Literate
  • Ability to work using own initiative and showing leadership skills

Special Conditions: The focus of these duties will, as outlined, be on the diversity, equality and inclusion agenda and activities of required of the force.

Shift working is an intrinsic element of the role. It should be noted that the role entails prolonged periods of walking and cycling and a requirement to wear a uniform and protective clothing, commensurate with being a PCSO.

The post holder must hold a current, full, clean driving licence.
