We are a fully integrated therapy team, and you will be working with people being treated on our 2 Working Age Adult Wards and 1 Psychiatric Intensive care Unit.

As a Diversional Activities Coordinator within the Therapies Team, you'll help to create a stimulating environment that enables us to deliver exceptional all-round care and support for people who use our services. Your role supports the delivery of high-quality, compassionate care that positively contributes to each individual's recovery journey.

This role involves planning and delivering engaging activities tailored to individual needs and interests to support and enhance psychological, spiritual, social, and emotional well-being.

We strive to offer a great work life balance - if you are looking for full time, or flexible options, we will try to make this work where operationally possible. We are committed to the health and well-being of our employees to create a positive work-life balance, along with a broad range of benefits.

Responsibilities include:

  • Organise, lead, and promote interest in recreational activities in an inclusive, stimulating, and safe environment.
  • Ascertain and interpret group interests, evaluate equipment and facilities, and adapt activities to meet individual participant needs.
  • Explain principles, techniques, and safety procedures to participants in recreational activities, and demonstrate use of materials and equipment.
  • Develop positive relationships with participants.
  • To adopt a pragmatic and non-judgmental approach.
  • To provide structured opportunities for people to relax and socialise.

We are a flexible working and friendly organisation, and we want to ensure that you can work in a way that is best for us, our patients, and for you. Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is the leading provider of health and social care services for people of all ages with mental ill-health and learning disabilities in Surrey and North East Hampshire.

We actively seek to engage people who use our services and our communities in improving the mental wellbeing of the local population. Surrey is a beautiful county lying just 30 minutes away from Central London and from the South Coast.
