Job description

District Nurse - Community Health Service Wellington, Wellington

This position is for experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) interested in community health, working either full-time (1.0 FTE, 80 hours per fortnight) or part-time (0.8 or 0.9 FTE, 64 or 72 hours per fortnight) in Wellington. The role involves supporting patients in their homes with various health interventions, including wound care, palliative care, medication management, and more.

Shifts are from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with afternoon shifts from 1:30 pm to 10:00 pm. The team offers regular training, study days, and opportunities for academic development. The role requires a full driver’s license and previous community nursing experience, though orientation is provided for nurses from other backgrounds.

District nurses support patient discharge from hospitals and work closely with general practitioners and community teams. The position emphasizes autonomous practice within a supportive team environment.
