We are looking for an experienced heat network / energy decarbonisation strategic project manager, with a passion for district heating and ambition to help achieve our national heat network deployment targets.

Under the guidance of our UK Heat Networks Lead, this role will be responsible for providing project management, stakeholder engagement, and strategy development expertise, in support of building our District Heating Strategic Advisory Services.

The primary focus of this role will be providing a range of services to Local Authority and other public sector clients to progress the development of heat networks in their area, such as developing heat network strategies, stakeholder engagement, governance support, managing heat network zoning implementation, grant funding applications, and managing studies and sub-consultants.

The role also includes leading high-priority projects, managing existing client relationships, supporting business development, and contributing to strategic planning to grow our team in this dynamic sector.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum Masters or Bachelors degree in relevant engineering/technical field, and/or project management
• Experience with district heating schemes and government grant-funded projects (BEIS/DESNZ/GLA)
• Knowledge of UK heat network zoning regulations
• Experience working with UK local authorities and understanding their governance
• Knowledge of commercial models for heat networks
• Experience in stakeholder engagement activities
• Knowledge of low-carbon heat technologies and waste heat sources
• Experience with business development, including developing business cases and project delivery
• Strong engineering/technical background in the energy sector
• Grant funding application and management experience
• Understanding of district heating energy centre operations and performance assessments
• Experience in Local Area Energy Planning
• Knowledge of the energy market, electricity networks, and renewable technologies
• Experience in procurement and technical specification development
