Oxoid Remel Microbiology, part of Thermo Fisher lineage, is seeking a Distribution Team Lead to oversee warehouse pick and pack operations in Basingstoke. You will lead a fast-paced team and drive Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Continuous Improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of warehouse associates and shift leaders in a fast-paced distribution environment.
• Ensure Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Inventory objectives are achieved through effective daily management.
• Coordinate workforce planning and resource allocation to meet operational demands and commitments.
• Conduct performance reviews and development discussions with team members.
• Lead daily operational meetings and communicate priorities and metrics.
• Drive continuous improvement using structured problem-solving and root cause analysis.
• Ensure processes, SOPs, and training materials are current and compliant.
• Support onboarding and skill development for a flexible workforce.
• Collaborate with Customer Service and Logistics for seamless order execution.
• Monitor KPIs and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Perform internal audits and identify efficiency and compliance improvements.
• Act as deputy for the Logistics Manager when required.
• Promote Thermo Fisher Scientific values with a safety-first mindset.

About The Role

The Distribution Team Leader is responsible for leading warehouse pick and pack operations, ensuring products are processed accurately, safely, and efficiently to meet customer delivery requirements. This role drives operational excellence through a strong focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Continuous Improvement while leading and developing a high-performing team.

What You'll Do

• Lead and develop a team of warehouse associates and shift leaders within a fast-paced distribution environment.
• Ensure all Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Inventory objectives are achieved through effective daily management.
• Coordinate workforce planning and resource allocation to meet operational demands and customer commitments.
• Conduct performance reviews, coaching conversations, talent development discussions, and employee relations activities.
• Lead daily operational meetings and communicate priorities, performance metrics, and improvement initiatives.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement using structured problem-solving tools and root cause analysis methodologies.
• Ensure warehouse processes, work instructions, standard operating procedures, and training documentation remain current and compliant.
• Support onboarding, training, and skill development to build a flexible and capable workforce.
• Collaborate with Customer Service, Logistics, and other operational teams to ensure seamless execution of customer orders.
• Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs), implementing corrective actions where necessary.
• Conduct internal audits and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and compliance.
• Serve as deputy for the Logistics Manager when required.
• Promote Thermo Fisher Scientific values through visible leadership and a safety-first mindset.

What We're Looking For

• Previous leadership experience within a warehouse, distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or operational environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams and driving performance in Safety, Quality, and Delivery-focused operations.
• Strong coaching, communication, and employee development skills.
• Experience conducting performance management and employee relations activities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Experience using warehouse or ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
